FAQs

Q: What is Tallow? Where does it come from?

A: Tallow is made from beef fat, specifically we source 100% grass-fed beef suet from a regenerative farm. Beef suet is internal fat from around the kidneys. Using tallow is a great way to support your farmers and is eco-friendly as it encourages a "Nose to Tail" lifestyle.

Q: Is your tallow 100% grass-fed?

A: Yes, the cows are raised on pasture their whole life. Not only is our tallow made with 100% grass-fed tallow, it's sourced from a regenerative farm. A regenerative farm helps the environment by feeding animals their natural diets, improving soil quality, and in the process sequestering carbon emissions.

Q: What’s the deal with 100% Regenerative Grass-Fed Grass-Finished Tallow?

A:100% Grass-Fed Regenerative Tallow is the most nutrient dense type of tallow as the cows are raised on pastures eating their appropriate natural diet. Tallow is extremely nourishing for the skin. It is loaded with fat soluble vitamins such as Vitamin E, D, K and A. It is long lasting, moisturizing and doesn’t clog pores. It can be used for anti-aging, wrinkles, dry skin, eczema, spot treatment and as a daily moisturizer

Q: How do you use tallow?

A: Tallow can be applied to any part of the body (face, hands, arms, legs, feet, etc). It can be used as a daily moisturizer, for spot treatment or skin protectant. It's a natural way to help prevent and treat dry skin/eczema.

Q: Who can use it?

A: Tallow is very nourishing for all skin types and safe for all ages.

Q: When can you use tallow?

A: Tallow can be applied day or night. You can use it in the morning, before bed, throughout the day, or after a shower. Tallow can be used as a primer before makeup.

A: How much should I apply?

Q: A little goes a long ways with tallow. Start with a small quantity and reapply as needed. If you use "too much" it won't harm you, it may just feel heavier at first but once it sets into your skin it will feel normal. Some like to use a thicker application at night or after showers while doing a lighter application during the day.

Q: How long does tallow last?

A: Tallow is extremely shelf stable on its own. It can last at least 6 months at room temperature but can be kept in the refrigerator or freezer for a longer period. If you live in a very hot climate and notice your tallow start to melt, you can store it in the refrigerator. Storing tallow in a cold environment such as the refrigerator or freezer may cause it to harden some. This is because its a fat. If storing in a colder place you can take set it out at room temperature before applying. Most are able to keep it at room temperature with no issues.

Q: Im not convinced, what other benefits are there to using tallow on my skin?

A: There are so many! Tallow contains  antioxidants, anti inflammatory properties, anti microbial properties, it doesn't clog pores and it works with your sabaceous glands. A lot of customers have reported its helped clear their acne, eczema, and heal their skin barrier! Tallow can help with your skin elasticity, aide in skin regeneration, and help repair damaged skin.
